How to vote -
a simple take on American politics
or, how to disentangle the country from dirty politics -
(look to the Mayflower for clues)

Remember the grade school story they told us about the Mayflower?
on board, from this American Indian’s point of view at least,
were
2 groups of immigrants  --
pilgrims looking for a new life
and businessmen looking for more money

Although the process itself went through many metamorphoses,
these two groups are the seeds of what translated
into the 2 party system
so maybe it would help to look at things this way:
that the pilgrims in search of a new life became the democrats ...
and do I really have to say who the businessmen likely became?
it rhymes with GOP – grand ol’ party – the republicans

make no mistake:
truth today has been smeared beyond recognition
by the media, technology, pathetic public education,
and blatant manipulation by those in power
(thank Mr. Nixon, father of the modern GOP, for the latter)

This isn't about placing blame, though,
because neither do we really look for truth in our political choices
and here’s why:
first, each person believes what he/she chooses to believe,
and second, studies show that generally a person's politics are typically influenced, not by education or political savvy,
but by parental opinion, either for or against parental view,
meaning a person's politics are based
more on emotional bias
than political truths

so with truth having been removed altogether from an election,
it would behoove most of us to remember what it's all about,
what it's always all about, the white elephant in the room,
and man’s longtime ethical conundrum
since time immemorial in one form or another:
it’s about money, or more accurately, the control thereof …

with that in mind, now go back to the beginning,
to a simpler time of dreams and revolutions,
also all being driven by money,
but now ask yourself this:
in 1620 if you had boarded the Mayflower
alongside the pilgrims and the businessmen,
with whom would you be sitting?

and boom! there you have it:
that’s how you should vote in any election  …
imo
